Well Baby Nursery- This nursery cares for babies born between 37-40 weeks gestation. After your delivery, your baby will be transported here for stabilization. This is where your baby will be weighed and placed on a radiant warmer.
A Registered nurse will perform a head to toe physical examination and obtain a complete set of vital signs consisting of temperature, heart rate, respiration, and blood pressure if applicable. Measurements and footprints will be taken for a complimentary birth certificate. Your baby's glucose level will also be checked. As your baby proceeds through this normal transition period, he/she will be monitored closely.
When a stable temperature is reached, your baby will be bathed and transported out to you. Your baby can stay with you as long as and as often as you like if he/she doesn't require special attention. During your infants stay with us, we will provide you with ongoing teaching about the care of your baby.
You will receive a complimentary teaching video for easy referrals. Prior to your baby's discharge home, he/she will be given a hearing screen for early detection of hearing loss. A T4PKU will be obtained as well as newborn photo's with your consent. The staff realizes what an exciting time it is to welcome a new addition to your family.
