About Women & Childrens In the 20+ years that Women and Children's Hospital has been serving the people of Southwest Louisiana, we've made a name for ourselves with excellence in women's services and now we have expanded to provide quality, cost-effective health care for women and children. Our commitment began with the hospital's inception in the early 1980's and has grown even stronger through the years as the hospital has grown. More than just a provider of quality health care, Women and Children's Hospital is an active member of the business community and contributes to the economic health of Lake Charles through the payment of taxes in excess of $252,000 annually and a payroll of over $8.5 million to 325 employees. We support our community further through sponsorship of events and activities totaling more than $36,000 annually, and serve as a resource for health education, awareness and prevention. Our $6.5 million renovation/expansion project, constructing of a new medical office building on campus and implementation of a state-of-the-art Meditech Information System are just a few of our lastest initiatives. As the leader in women and children's health care, we pledge to continue our tradition of providing quality, cost effective health care to our community - now and into the future.
