Lake Charles, La. (October 21, 2011) – Women & Children’s Hospital (WCH) welcomes back Joseph O’Donnell, M.D., a board-certified general surgeon to its medical staff. A Texas native, Dr. O’Donnell received his bachelor of science degree from Rice University in Houston. He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed his surgical residency program at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston.

Dr. O’Donnell has served the surgical needs of Southwest Louisiana for more than 20 years. Among the procedures he performs are minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries that, for many, may mean less pain and a faster recovery.

Prior to joining Lake Area Surgical Associates, Dr. O’Donnell was most recently treating patients in the Sulphur area. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the Calcasieu Parish Medical Society. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and reading.
