Women & Children’s Hospital Named a 2012 Best Places to Work in Healthcare
Lake Charles, La. (September 25, 2012) – Modern Healthcare recently announced its fifth annual list of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare and Women & Children’s Hospital (WCH) has been named one of the top 100 healthcare employers across the nation.
“Our entire team is honored to receive this award,” said Bryan S. Bateman, CEO. “WCH has always received high praise for our employee satisfaction scores. Our employees’ satisfaction is key to being a great place to work and to earning this national recognition. In this year’s employee survey, 97 percent say they are proud to be a part of this organization and 96 percent intend to stay. To receive this positive feedback and to be the only Southwest Louisiana hospital on the list, is particularly satisfying.”

To celebrate the award, the hospital treated staff to a free pancake breakfast, hosted an ice cream social and distributed a Best Places to Work t-shirt to all staff and volunteers.
Three-hundred and forty (340) healthcare companies participated in this year’s healthcare workplace program. WCH and the ninety-nine other finalists from companies across the country will find out their ranking order at a special gala in Nashville, Tenn. on Oct. 9 and in a special supplement to be published on Oct. 15.

Modern Healthcare partnered with Best Companies Group, a PA-based firm that administers “best places to work” programs nationwide. Modern Healthcare conducted this program to recognize outstanding employers in the healthcare industry on a national level. The program collected information from both the employers and employees and was open to all healthcare companies in the United States with at least 25 employees.
